Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at jennifer@thesweetchapterco.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

All ingredients used to make the macaron shells and fillings are gluten-free at this time. If there was ever a time in which I had to include an ingredient that was NOT gluten-free, I would make that exceptionally clear. However, because I am a cottage bakery and bake out of my home, it is possible, although unlikely, that there may be some cross-contamination with items that are not gluten-free.

All macaron shells are made with almond flour and egg whites, so they all contain tree nuts and eggs. Additionally, most fillings are made with dairy in the form of butter and/or cream. Occasionally the fillings or shells may have other ingredients that would contain allergens. If there is a specific allergy you are concerned about, please reach out to jennifer@thesweetchapterco and we'll be happy to assist you!

At this time, I do not offer any macarons that are vegan, dairy-free, or nut-free.

When you fill out the order request form on the order page of this website, you will indicate which flavors and how many of each you would like to order. You will also be able to pick the date for which you would like to pick up your order. If I have any questions for you regarding your order, I will either email or text you. Once I have finalized your order, you will be sent an invoice to be paid. All invoices must be paid no later than 3 days before your pick-up date or your order will be cancelled.

The sooner, the better as my calendar fills up! However, as you will see on the order form, you must order at least a week in advance. Due to the nature of macarons, the time they need to bake and mature in the refrigerator, and the fact that I am a one-woman bakery, a week lead time ensures your macarons will be as fresh as they can be!

Yes! If you are looking for an order for a special event, there will be a spot on the order form to note that. In these cases, you should choose "custom" under which collection you're ordering from and we will put together a special box just for you. If you will be purchasing more than 50 for these events, at least 2 weeks lead time will be needed.

Once picked up, your macarons should be kept refrigerated for up to one week. You should take them out of the refrigerator 15-30 minutes before you'd like to eat or serve them.

Additionally, macarons can be kept in the freezer for up to 2 months. To thaw, thak them out of the freezer and place in a refrigerator for 24 hours so that condensation does not collect on the shells.

I love to read! When creating my business, I wanted to be able to create a fun niche that reflected that love and was unique. Just because my flavors offered are literary-themed does not mean you have to be a reader to enjoy them, however! While our macarons are perfect as a sweet treat to partake in while reading your favorite book, they are equally perfect for hostess gifts, birthday gifts, or everyday snacking as well.
